My Dear Diary,
Argh where might I be I ask myself!?! I need to find a bag in which to shake myself up :D
Being an indie artist and releasing an album sure as hell generates a weird mix of emotions... This is the third time I've been here now and things really don't get any easier from an "Am I starting to go slightly crazy??" point of view. Every album is a journey, a huge emotional roller coaster that takes you on many an up and down as the sheer strain it puts on every day life drags you from pillar to post. My mind is wobbling around like a jelly now that the work is done but that big and ever gnarling question always remains wonderfully persistent at the forefront - "Er... So what now Alice?" and what with the fact Simon Cowell isn't exactly banging our door down at this precise moment, there is no time for slacking ;-)
So... whilst I'd love to be glued to X-Factor at this moment, I'm sorry to disappoint you Mr Cowell but time is of the essence as my beloved Tabby and I are preparing ourselves for the biggest push ever. The push in which we endeavour to break through that bottom layer of the music industry that we now have a firm grip on, the push in which we shall make you all listen.
My personal belief is that Spotify and the like are rapidly changing the music industry for the better as more control is being placed in the hands of indie acts like us. We are now on the same stage as the bands signed to majors, we have the same level of visibility and the ever decreasing price of decent recording equipment also makes it easier for us to compete and harder for them to stay ahead. This sweet pudding is already proving itself as immediately following release, we are receiving listens from all over the world (thank you all you lovely people who ever you may be!) ...man, we love it - and this is why all the hard work is worth it :D
